Galway Sportsground – Connacht Rugby

As part of Phase One of Connacht Rugby’s ambitious redevelopment plan, a new all-weather playing surface was installed to enhance year-round usability and performance. This upgrade marks a significant step in transforming the venue into a modern, high-performance facility.

In collaboration with Musco Lighting, a global leader in sports lighting solutions, McSherry Electrical proudly delivered a state-of-the-art LED floodlighting system tailored to meet the demands of both live audiences and broadcast standards.

The new Sports Lighting System features a 36m lighting columns, each equipped with Musco’s TLC-LED-1150s luminaire to achieve 1500 Lux. These high-efficiency fixtures provide superior illumination, ensuring optimal visibility across the pitch while minimising glare and energy consumption. This advanced lighting solution has elevated the match-day experience for fans in attendance, creating a vibrant and immersive atmosphere. Additionally, it has significantly enhanced the broadcast quality, delivering clearer visuals and more consistent lighting.
