UCD Athletics Track

The running track at University College Dublin (UCD) is a top-tier athletics facility located on the Belfield campus. It features a standard 400-meter, 8-lane synthetic surface built to International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) specifications, making it suitable for both training and competitive events.

In collaboration with our trusted partners at Musco Lighting, McSherry Electrical proudly delivered a state-of-the-art LED floodlighting system for UCD.

The new Sports Lighting System features a 18.29m lighting columns, each equipped with Musco’s TLC-LED luminaires to achieve 200 Lux for the Track and 350 Lux for the Soccer Pitch. The high-efficiency fixtures are engineered to provide uniform, glare-free lighting across the running track, soccer pitch, and long jump area, ensuring optimal visibility for athletes and spectators. Designed with sustainability in mind, the system minimises energy consumption while maximizing performance, making it a world-class sports infrastructure.
